What's the idea behind Beanpole Bumps? TOP Beanpole BumpsTM was created in March 2008 by myself, Suzanne Thomas, to supply maternity clothing to tall pregnant women. When I was recently pregnant with my first child I found it almost impossible to find maternity clothes - in particular trousers - which were long enough for me (I'm just about 6' tall).
I found it very frustrating and unfair and set about trying to source as many extra-length maternity clothes from around the world as possible which would be long enough for the taller mum-to-be. As a result Beanpole Bumps - the first UK online shop catering solely for tall pregnant women - was born! We are based in Sandbach, Cheshire in the north-west of England and I run the website whilst also having another job and a family to look after! We try hard to find a range of clothes which will suit most tastes and budgets. Please note that we really do work hard to keep prices down as much as we can - we realise that pregnancy and new babies are expensive times, but it is possible that prices for particular items may go up from time to time, particularly with supplier costs etc going up at the moment.
As well as featuring maternity ranges from around the world, the first of our new Beanpole BumpsTM ranges are now in stock. The Beanpole Bumps ranges have been commissioned as a 'staples' range to help fill the gaps that are not currently covered by the other designs we currently have available.
We are always working to develop our stock and have plans to extend our range with maternity/nursing dresses and new trouser styles in the near future! Watch this space... How do maternity sizes work, do I order my usual size? TOP The simple answer is yes! Just choose the size you would order normally. If you are outside the UK and are unsure of our sizing hopefully the following comparison information will help:
Help, I need a longer/shorter inside leg on the trousers I wanted! What can I do? TOP This isn't usually a problem we taller ladies have when it comes to buying trousers! However, some of the styles would be fine to have altered to make them shorter or even longer. Where applicable, hem information is included so that if it was required to shorten or let them down even more it would give you an idea if this would be possible. You should be able to find local tailors or dressmakers who could do this for you, or even some dry cleaners offer this service! Please note, however, that if any alterations are made once you have received the trousers that they would no longer be valid return items so please make sure you are happy with your purchase before having any alterations made. How much will delivery cost? TOP For UK orders we charge a flat delivery rate of £3.99 per order. Please see below for more information about delivery to Europe and Worldwide (excluding the United States). How quickly will I receive my item(s)? TOP We aim to dispatch all orders within 1-2 working days of order receipt and in most cases will dispatch the next working day. Depending upon the order value, items within the UK will be sent out either first-class recorded delivery or special delivery.
Please note that your delivery will need to be signed for, so you may wish to consider this when choosing a delivery address.
Items being dispatched to Europe or Worldwide (excluding the United States) will be sent by the Airmail service which aims to take 5 days to arrive.
If items are marked as 'Coming Soon' on the website, we will contact you to let you know when we anticipate that the items will arrive in stock and give you an indication of a delivery date. As soon as they arrive they will be dispatched to you.
I don't live in the UK, can I place an order? TOP How do I pay for my item(s)? TOP We use Paypal for processing payments. This is a secure payment system which makes it easy for you to make your payment by debit/credit card - simply follow the instructions provided when you 'View Cart' and then click 'Go to Payments'. If you would like to know more about Paypal, please find further information at www.paypal.co.uk. Please note that no additional charges will be made to you for using the Paypal service and at no stage do we see details of your credit/debit cards - it is all done centrally through Paypal. You do not need a Paypal account to use this service.
Payment methods accepted by Paypal include: Mastercard, Maestro, Visa, Visa Electron, American Express and Solo.
Alternatively, if you would prefer to pay by cheque, please email us at mail@beanpolebumps.co.uk and we will contact you with further payment details. Any orders paid for by cheque will be slightly delayed as it will take a few days for the cheque to clear. I didn't quite find what I'm looking for, what can I do next? TOP Contact us! We're here to provide as many tall maternity clothing solutions as possible. If you have a specific requirement or requests for particular styles/sizes please let us know so we can work towards solving any issues you may have. What do I do if the clothes I've ordered aren't quite the right fit? TOP We want you to be completely happy with your purchase, so if it doesn't fit you as it should then contact us to arrange a return. Please note that you MUST contact us to arrange the return before sending back any items - any unauthorised returns will not be accepted. (The address for returns and the procedure to be followed will also be sent out with your order).
The item(s) must be:
You must also make sure that the item(s) are returned within 10 days of receipt (28 days for Europe and Worldwide). You are responsible for return postage costs and it is recommended that you obtain proof of postage or send the item(s) recorded delivery as returns remain your responsibility until they arrive back with us. Unfortunately, refunds/exchanges cannot be given if the item is lost in the post and you have not obtained proof of postage.
If you would like to try a different size of your ordered style you can be sent an exchange item at no additional delivery cost. If you would prefer a refund, please note that the original delivery cost cannot be refunded.
